Find the JOY of Learning
HomeBase's practical, hands-on lessons are focused on creating a joyful learning environment. Our founder, Samantha, has spent 8 years teaching with a specialty in re-connecting students with their curiosity and empowerment through learning.

MATH CURRICULUM
The HomeBase Math curriculum combines dynamic practical activities with the grade level standards. We use a mastery systems so parents can follow along with their student's progress in general goals.
Membership included office hours and additional materials for any students that need additional support on certain masteries.
Example lessonS:
Gold Nugget Hunt:
Mastering UNITS, MULTIPLICATION & ADDING DECIMALS.
This 4th grade activity helps students understand the value of precious metals today, and connects to our 4th grade Gold Rush history lessons.
+ Cohort Activity: Mini "gold nuggets" will be hidden. Students will find them and weigh them, recording the weight to exact decimals. Then will then research how much gold currently costs per ounce and multiply it by their "gold" weights to see how much it would be worth today!
+ Home Activity: Students can repeat this with their family, this time finding the value if it was silver.

House Square Footage Project:
Mastering AREA, MULTIPLICATION and UNIT MEASUREMENT
+ Cohort Activity: Students learn how to find area after learning stacked multiplication. Cohort works together to measure the HomeBase rooms and calculate the area.
+ Home Activity: Calculate the square footage of all the rectangular rooms in your house, bring and present to cohort.

Her homeschooling services over the past 9 years have included:
